Growing Up

I was born in Jacksonville, FL but spent most of my childhood in McDonough, GA. I went to a private school until 9th grade, then switched to home school for the rest of my high school years.

I went to Bob Jones University for a computer science degree which was an easy choice. While home schooling, I picked up a random book on C++ that got me into programming. I loved it so started building small programs until I picked up Java game development from YouTube.

In university, I loved intercollegiate programming competitions. I stumbled into them and our team nearly won the division. From that point, I learned a ton about algorithms and data structures, hoping to go to ACM worlds on day. Our team almost made it (came in 4th place) but only 1-3 went to worlds.

I also participated in choral groups during my university freshman and senior years. These formed some great memories and friendships through various concerts!
