A good addition to the mario kart series! The main things to note are rail grinding, wall riding, and neutral jumping to add more tech to the game. Overall the game remains the same, but you can add a lot more tricks and shortcuts.
The open world aspect is fun as a whole, but doesn't feel like a major part of the gameplay unfortunately. Also, playing tracks often involves driving from one track to the next which isn't appealing to many people.
