Slay the Spire 2 is a fantastic followup to the game. It has 5 characters so far that each have their own selection of cards to choose from, and it's really improved and fine-tuned the formula that made the first game so good.
The game consists of 3 (then 4) acts. These acts allow you to climb the tower, visiting regular encounters (enemies), elites, random events, shops, and relics.
The difficulty mainly comes from learning each character. The characters each have many builds to choose from and some niche ways to play. If you add the wrong cards to your deck, you'll end up drawing them and they'll clutter your gameplay.
I think this game is the best of its type and everyone should give it a try at some point!
